What is Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery [MBBS]?
MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. During the 5 years and 6 months of MBBS course, students get both Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees. They are both professional undergraduate courses. Students need to complete 1 year mandetory internship after 4.5 years of theory.
MBBS Admission takes place through NEET Exam. Students are allotted colleges based on their NEET score. NEET Score has been released on June 14, 2023. Students must be above 17 years of age and have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology as compulsory subjects in class 12 in order to qualify for the NEET Exam.
MBBS consists of 19 subjects in total that are spread across 9 semesters. The MBBS subjects are divided into 3 segments which are Pre-Clinical, Para Clinical and Clinical. MBBS 1st Year Subjects are Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology.
Students after completing MBBS can become doctors. The starting salary of doctors is INR 4-6 LPA. The opportunities for doctors can range from private and government hospitals, railways, and armed forces.

MBBS Admission Process
The MBBS admission process is solely based on entrance exams conducted by MCI. No student would be able to get admission unless he/she appears for the MBBS entrance exam.
The only MBBS entrance exam is NEET in India which permits students to get admission for BDS, MBBS, BVSc, and UG Ayush Courses.
